4TH INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION CONFERENCE

Adaptation Futures 2016 is the fourth PROVIA worldwide adaptation conference. It will be held in Rotterdam from 10 to 13 May 2016. The conference aims to move climate change adaptation forward by promoting solutions across sectors, borders and communities. Scholars, practitioners, policymakers and business people will gather from all around the world to exchange new and practical ideas, experiences and insights for climate change adaptation.

The Global Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA) 4th edition Adaptation Futures Conference will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The conference highlights adaptation practices and solutions for people, governments, and businesses. The conference will work to engage communities of practices, further connect science with practice, and link adaptation action to current development, investment, and planning. All sectors from all parts of the world will be addressed. Themes include (but not limited to): food, forestry and rural livelihoods; water availability and access; public health; ecosystems and ecosystem based adaptation. More information can be found in the Programme for Adaptation Futures 2016 here.

Plenary speakers include Ian Burton, Canada; Roger Pulwarty, NOAA, USA; Paula Caballero, Senior Director for Environment & Natural Resources Global Practice, The World Bank; Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC; Laurent Sédogo, West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), Ghana.
